Great Sex (Part One): Put the Sensuality Back into Sex

Whether you've been dating for a short while or have been in a committed relationship for years, keeping your sex life alive and interesting is a real concern.  Maybe you're trying to impress a new lover or freshen up the familiar, whatever your concern; we often get so caught up in trying to find the next blow-your-mind sex move that we forget sometimes it's the simplest of things that make the sexiest impact. So here is the first tip in my five part series on how to keep the passion flowing in your lovemaking.

First tip, Senses Rule.
Living life through your five senses is what puts pleasure in the mundane details that dominate our lives.  Sensuous living keeps you grounded in the moment and makes one happier and more appreciative of the world around them and their life as they live it.  The same is true of sensuous loving.  Staying mindful of all that you see, feel, hear, smell, and taste while making love increases your pleasure and keeps your mind and body in the present, thus making you more responsive to your partner.  Sensuous loving also helps you create memorable sexual experiences together, rather than simply engaging in sexual acts. Incorporate anything that stimulates any and all of your five senses.

Go with items like music, textures, location that will incorporate your mood and individual preferences at the time. Feeling raw and passionate?  Throw on a pumping beat, make love on the sisal rug in the living room and enjoy the rough, sensual side of your passion.  Feeling cozy and romantic, make love wrapped in the cool feel of cotton sheets, with the rain as your soundtrack.

Studies show that certain smells like rose, patchouli and sandalwood, increase sexual desire, and having your favorite scents at the ready to ignite with a spray or flick of a match, adds another sensual layer to your lovemaking.  But the scents radiating from your partner are perhaps the sexiest of all.  Take time to breathe in your lover from the hint of scent from the shampoo left in their hair to their natural body smells.
